The state of matter in which particles are widely separated and are in constant random motion.
The state of matter in which particles are widely separated and are in constant random motion. Particles in a gas have more energy than in a liquid or solid, and move about to fill the container they are in. Gases can flow, and can be compressed. In theory any chemical can exist as a gas given the right temperature, provided it does not break down chemically first.
