Molten rock below the surface of the Earth.
Molten rock below the surface of the Earth. Magma varies in viscosity depending on composition and temperature, which is typically in the range 700-1300°C. If magma erupts onto the Earth's surface it's then called lava, which occurs at plate boundaries, hotspots and volcanoes.
