Science glossary film: Meteor shower

A celestial event in which a group of meteors appear to radiate from the same point and occur in a short period of time. They occur when the Earth passes through a cloud of dust or debris. They are quite common events, but only a few, such as the Perseid and Leonid meteor showers, are regular events that we can predict.
